Christmas and Camping

So about Christmas vacation, it was great. We spent a week in Texas with Taylor's family and had a ton of fun! We walked around the lake, and were able to take Fife in his stroller on the trail because we have our awesome jogging stroller that can go anywhere! We went archery shooting which was a ton of fun! We spent a lot of time in the indoor range but did do a little out in the forest, I personally preferred the indoor range because I thought it was freezing cold outside. On about our second or third shot there Taylor shot an arrow into the back of one of his arrows already on his target. It was so cool! Just like Robin Hood! Everyone there was super impressed and said how very rare it was.

Taylor also went bungee jumping! So that was pretty cool. And my personal highlight, we went to the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert and it was awesome! It was a great show. Grandma and Grandpa Sager dropped by and saw us and Fife! We did lots of other fun things too and most of all got to spend some great time with family and bond more.

We are back home now in Virginia and I have been feeling a lot better these days! Some days I think I even feel pretty much normal! I joined the ward basketball team and we have had 3 games so far, the first game I thought I was going to die, it was the first time I had run since having Fife and probably the first time I really sprinted in a very very long time. I have been trying to exercise every day now (Taylor got me an xbox kinnect for Christmas to work out inside!) so each bball game has gotten a little easier, even though my playing time has increased. The last game I played almost the whole time because we were short some players and my face was so red I'm sure everyone thought I might drop right there.

Taylor just recently joined the men's team and he has lots of fun with it too, though there are a lot more boys who want to play so he doesn't get as much playing time as he would like.

Presidents Day weekend we decided to go camping. I'm not sure what gave us the idea but somehow it got into our heads and we were determined to do it. We just went Saturday night. Taylor made an awesome fire and Fife stayed warm in his many layers and bear suit. We bought a camp stove for the excursion and it worked great! We hope to use it many times. It was very very freezing cold before we went to bed, once we were in our sleeping bags though it wasn't too bad, it definitely could have been warmer but I have been through much colder nights growing up. The coldest part was that Fife woke up twice to eat (he usually only wakes up once) and he wouldn't eat inside the sleeping bag, so I had to sit up out of the sleeping bag to feed him. The next morning we packed up, went for a short walk, and then headed home. It was a lot of fun (doing something out of the ordinary always is) and we hope to go again, though I think we will wait a month or two for it to warm up a bit more. The plus to this trip was there were no bugs! Our Church now starts at 3pm so we were able to take our time, we even went to a friends before church for lunch.

Fife is getting so big! He is so much fun to play with too. Yesterday it was so funny; he would make a big frowny face, then I would make a frowny face back at him and then he would get the biggest smile! And then he would do the frowny again, then I would do the frowny, and he would get a big smile! He is quite a funny little guy!

This is the video I tried to upload last post but it wouldn't work, so it is a couple weeks old, but still adorable!
